Fractional CTO for a creative makerspace for kids.

Karunaverse engaged us as fractional CTO partners to help validate and refine their vision for a children's creative platform - an app designed to guide kids aged 7-10 on personalized journeys through writing, drawing, music, and code.

We kicked off with collaborative User Flow Workshops, where we worked with Karuna's team to articulate the app's core principles and map out the critical first 30 minutes of the user experience.

Through these sessions, we captured ideas for guided creative activities (avatar and username creation, mad-lib style writing prompts, collaborative "exquisite corpse" drawing), identified roadmap gaps, and produced wireflows and roadmap artifacts in Whimsical to align the team on priorities.

We then facilitated a full design sprint, taking the product from ideation through to a testable prototype. We built an interactive iPad prototype and conducted seven user interviews with children in Grades 3-5, gathering direct feedback on the experience. The testing validated core assumptions while surfacing critical UX insights.

By rapidly moving from ideation to testable prototype to real user feedback, Karuna gained actionable insights that shaped their product direction, avoiding costly development of features that wouldn't resonate. We delivered a comprehensive Design Sprint Report, technical specification, and a foundation for their next phase of development.
